Jerry D. "J.D." Evans, the son of Eugene and Edna (Vogler) Evans, was born June 20, 1931, in Fairfax, Missouri. J.D. attended school in Rural Fairfax and Fairfax High School.
In 1950, J.D. was united in marriage to Evelyn D. Taylor in Fairfax, Missouri. To this union, four children were born, Kim, Stephen, Reed and Rocky. They later divorced. In 1980, J.D. was united in marriage to Kay Volker. They later divorced. J.D. spent twenty years with his special friend, Betty Zebell.
J.D. was employed by Sly and Carter as a truck driver for many years. For seventeen years, he was employed by M.B.P., before moving to Wichita, Kansas, where he worked for M.B.P. Excel. In 1993, he moved back to Tarkio and continued working as a truck driver. J.D. passed away March 14, 2012, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, at the age of 80.
J.D. attended the Presbyterian Church and enjoyed camping at the river and visiting with friends.
Besides his parents, J.D. is preceded in death by one brother, Albert Evans and his special friend, Betty Zebell. Survivors include four sons, Kim Evans, Watson, Missouri, Stephen Evans and wife, Rhonda, Tarkio, Reed Evans, Watson and Rocky Evans and wife, Jamie, Rock Port, Missouri; three grandsons, Mark Evans, Watson, Dane Evans, Tarkio and Bryan Evans, Rock Port; one granddaughter, Jodie Evans, Rock Port and sister-in-law, Martha Evans, Peoria, Illinois.
Graveside Service and Interment: 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 18, 2012, English Grove Cemetery, Fairfax.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M., Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
