Winona F. (Harding) Cooper
On August 21, 1945, Winona was united in marriage to Billie Dean Cooper in Hiawatha, Kansas. The couple moved to San Diego, California while B.D. was in the Navy. After returning to Missouri, they made their home in St. Joseph and Kansas City. They were the parents of two sons. The family moved to Fairfax in 1961, where they lived until the present time.
Winona was employed by John Deere in Kansas City, Missouri and the Exchange Bank, Fairfax, retiring in 1987. She then worked with her sons, J.R. and David for the Fairfax Elevator Company.
Winona was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port, Missouri. She and B.D. enjoyed watching their children and grandchildren at their sporting events. Winona passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 95.
Besides her parents and husband, B.D., Cooper, Winona was preceded in death by siblings, Harold and J.W. Harding and Opal Fuller. Survivors include sons, David (Pam) Cooper and J.R. (Pete) Cooper, both of Fairfax; four grandchildren, Phillip Cooper, Magen (Tracy) Norcross, Donovan (Tracy) Cooper, Pepe (Jade) Wright; ten great grandchildren, Kolbe, Kilea and Kaden Cooper, Lauren Durkin, Boo and Brody Cooper, Britney, Blade, Bentley and Brett Wright; siblings, Ruth Bodeker, Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Karol Anne Chicken, Grant City, Missouri.
Graveside Service and Interment: 9:00 A.M., Thursday, September 30, 2021, English Grove Cemetery, Fairfax.
Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 29, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. There is no family visitation.

Winona Cooper, the daughter of James and Ruby (Zimmerman) Harding, was born December 2, 1925 in Allendale, Missouri. She was the oldest of six children. Winona attended numerous northwest Missouri schools before graduating from Shenandoah High School, Shenandoah, Iowa in 1943. She then attended the American Institute of Business, Des Moines, Iowa, graduating in 1944.
