Norman was born June 3, 1927, in Ava, Missouri. He was the son of the late William and Francis (Strong) Simmons.
Norm’s family made their home in Ava, where he attended school. After school Norm enlisted in the United States Army. Norm was a veteran, serving his country in the Korean War. November 9, 2010, Norm was chosen among other veterans to go to Washington, D.C. on the Honor Flight.
